Watching the Lakers/Raptors right now, Raptors up by 3 going into the 4th in LA. Go Raptors.

The week in review

Two recent earthquakes, in Haiti and Chile seem to drive home just how poor those countries are, especially Haiti. And this is certainly another element of strip-mining remote countries and leaving them powerless.

First in a while

So I did get money from my little accident, and I'm finally on top of bills (sort of).. Still a ways to go. Playing some scrabble on facebook with my homey Mona, and watching a Fatih Akin film called "Head-On." Pretty intense so far.

Light at the end?

I was rear-ended last Thursday, after a really emotional day at work. It sounds like I will get some money out of it, which I can desperately use. :)

Some thoughts on NBA All-star Weekend

I was bored Saturday (bored in a "waiting for an anticipated event" sense, as any other use of the word bored seems disingenuous) so I was kinda flipping through the games on men's college basketball slate and I happened across the Texas A&M/Texas Tech game (I can't be sure it was this game, and I wish I would have blogged right then). I was floored by the Texas Tech Red Raiders' jerseys just having have "Red Raiders" where the player name usually appears. It is such a simple thing, but that is how all team jerseys should be.

The work of life

It's time to begin. And that time is 541am on a Wednesday morning, apparently.
I didn't lose my job, but I came very close, so it is time to throw out all the possible cliches and embrace at least one of them.

First post of February

I am going to get suspended or maybe even fired at work. I ran out of gas and was late the week before last and then was late again this Thursday by about 20min. These mistakes can happen, but after all the crap and stupid things I've done, I need to have a very punctual work schedule. If I get another chance, I will do just that. Perhaps I'll have a nice light-hearted post here in the day(s) to come. I hope that is the case.
