From lunch

Where I always write from these days. I am having morningstar chik tenders and a quart of naked's green machine for lunch. What am I going to watch tonight. Hmm, probably not much since I am cleaning like crazy to host Trey and Julia this weekend!!

Very sore, defeated but posi

Blogging from my iPhone has become a regularity.

Originally this was meant to be a way to discuss my migraines and their treatment, but since I have been using the same treatment for quite a while, I haven't really needed to make many updates in that regard, but I feel it is time.

I am still taking 60mg of propranolol daily, in 3 tablets at 20mg a piece. The first time I took this it felt like a clenched fist behind my left eye suddenly opened and relieved weeks of built up pressure. I was sort of prescribed this medication as a last resort as it can make u gain weight in a hurry. I have. Before I started getting migraines I was about 140-145 pounds. I weigh about 200-205 now. That's a hell of a lot of weight, to be sure, but I am healthier now than I think I ever have been in my life and I haven't had a cold or flu since early 2010. That's well over a year!! I am finally getting active again as well and playing lots of basketball and riding my bicycle pretty much everywhere.

The second medication that has become a staple for me is citalopram, which started for a couple of months at 20mg and has been 40mg ever since. About a week ago we were super busy at work, I had refilled my prescription and missed it for a couple of days. I finally took a dose at about 6pm on Friday and couldn't even sleep until late Saturday night. Shows how much the medication has become a part of my routine.

Finally, I am taking a 100mg tablet of amitriptylene every might at bedtime. This medication is great for me and zonks me out every night, allowing me to get on the best schedule of my life.

I take my first dose of propranolol at 845, along with my citalopram. I take my second dose of propranolol at 245pm, usually at about the time I head to lunch. Finally, at 845pm, I take my final dose of propranolol and my dose of amitriptylene. With very little variation, this has been and will continue to be my routine.. Back to work!!

City League Game #2

Well, we were down 68-37 at one point, and wound up losing 76-53. It was pretty brutal. I scored my first 3 points on 3-3 from the free throw stripe.

A case of the mondays

Perhaps I just need new clothes, but every now and again, I am catching some funky scents off of myself. Deodorant, skin lotion, and now foot odor stuff, and that had better be the end of it!!

Not nearly a much as last week, after we won our opening game by 50, I am anxious about game 2. !!!

My head feels really good today, for the most part. It's a good thing.

June is ending!

It is the 26th of June, nearing its end! Crazy. Gonna hit up St Vinny's today with my friend Lindsey. Head is feeling decent. I need to not miss doses anymore and that would probably help :)

Last night was the start

Perhaps the most auspicious start to a city league basketball ever, we won our first game 74-24. Needless to say my head has been feeling really great. :). Working late tonight.

My unnamed crush has become the unrequited of late, as she has been too busy for hanging out. Still working my way through the bible (the moral animal: why we are the way we are), now on chapter 12, pg 256

St. Vinny's

Shopping for used books on the cheap, two 12-ounce cans of genetically-modified high fructose corn syrup in. Definitely a favorite past-time of mine.

Noon

Easy like a Sunday afternoon, despite what The Commodores had to say about the morning. Gonna take a bike ride here in a few.
Been listening to Red Fang. Haha. They rule!

Headache-inducing

That's how I would describe yesterday. It was shitty. Busy, with help that lacked a lot. Here's to a better day today.

A failed attempt

I had some lofty goals this morning, those of playing basketball and guitar. I didn't get either done so that is the plan again tomorrow!

Walking

On my way to work. Head feels pretty good. I have a bad habit of sleeping in, waking up just in time to get to work, and taking my meds a couple of hours late. This has got to stop.

Basketball, blogging, and guitar before work tomorrow. And pushups and situps. I also need to schedule time to make up a diet/menu and start organizing drafts of my film essays.

Let's get this started.

Blogging from phone, from home

It's late! I just realized I need to call my dad. Perhaps the most noticeable downside to blogging on my iPhone is having to learn a new method of creating hyperlinks and simply the difficulty of said transition.

I am currently watching the premiere serial 'episode' of Louis Feuillade's Les Vampires. Something about a silent, tinted film warms the cockles.

A blog from work, or: the benefits of working weekends

Well, here I am at work,
blogging. Shh, don't tell anyone. What a week!

I was off a few days and worked thurs-now. My migraines have been better for quite a while now but a patient of ours told me about pseudo-tumor cerebri. Going to have to research that.

Day Before Work

Kevin McHale will be the coach of the Houston Rockets so we don't have to hear him announce games anymore. Moments like these make finding faith in a creator possible, however fleeting they may be. Perhaps the seemingly intelligent, vegetarian owner of the team, Leslie Alexander, did us all a huge favor so we won't have to hear him talk on air anymore?

An interesting take on the killing of Osama Bin Laden, by a favorite author of mine, Noam Chomsky. Noam, always critically on point, argues that whatever the motive, goal, and accomplishment of the entire thing, this has likely weakened our security.

Joined Tout. Sounds like an interesting way to share impressions.

Tomorrow, I go back to work! Bam. Having four days off has been a beautiful thing. I feel rested and ready.
