Lunch at subway

I need to start creating music, to organize my life, and begin achieving.

I need to write essays, write songs, and right wrongs.

I am making my through cahiers' list. Currently on a Mankiewicz film, the barefoot contessa, just barely into it.

Really digging game of thrones the novel as well. Can't wait to continue learning some of the details that the tv series has left out (which, admittedly, isn't a whole lot thus far).

Musically I can't stop listening to tragedy. They are so powerful and I can't wait until the 30th when I can see them with Wolves in the throne room! I have a feeling it could be my favorite show of all time.

I am still trying to get another blog off of the ground as well. Much to focus on this week :)

Pecking order

I just saw a nasty cat fight outside. Mean local white cat was fighting with a calico (mottled grey and black). I tried to break it up to no avail. Shit. I hate seeing cats fight. I remember getting pretty buzzed with a friend in Longview and making a run somewhere down Ocean Beach highway and two cats were having a face off in the middle of the lane closest to the sidewalk and I didn't even realize it until I hit one of them. :(

Cold and difficult

Ok, it hasn't been that cold and difficult really. Currently inside black forest while I wait for the last bus. Today I took the bus into downtown to try and watch a movie that I've been meaning to see for a long time, Melancholia, by Lars von Trier. It didn't disappoint. It was like being prepared for receiving a huge body blow and still feeling the shock fully. Then again, you can't really prepare for something like that.

Brutal, if I had to use one word. I was planning on preparing to head home afterwards, making a quick pit stop at cd and game exchange. My friend Allisa thought that she may potentially be into seeing one too, so we arranged a meet up point. Didn't work out.

I decided to kick it at black forest and wait til show time to see Carnage by myself. It was worth it. Great film. Now I go home.

Weekend forecast #1

I am going to see Melancholia. I am going to see my friend Rob's presentation (I missed it). :(
I am going to create a menu for the following week by Sunday night.
I am going to sell dvds/cds/records. I am going to shop at St. Vincent de Paul. I am going to clear clutter by donating things I no longer need.

Bus stop

Next phase begins now. Now.

Monster Truck Rally

Watching Ravens/Texans. Apartment getting to be very clean :) I can't seem to keep track of my phone charger and I owe Dad, Mom, and JMO a lot of attention.

First half over, Ravens up 17-13. Watching Nicholas Ray's Johnny Guitar. Impressed because it is like no other movie I've ever seen in certain ways.

Working on quite a few things. Stay tuned!

Here comes the week

What a weekend. Feeling great.

Steelers lost to Denver. Definitely an overreaction on the part of Dave Zirin. It's silly to be upset that he's a born-again Christian. Yes, Michelle Bachmann and Rick Perry are both idiots. No, that doesn't mean you should constantly ridicule a player for their beliefs, Christian or otherwise. Anyway, I just don't like the Steelers. James Harrison is reckless, and that element of a professional sport should be rooted out. It's people's lives we're talking about. Concussions are a part of the game, but you can live a fine life with a hobble and cane. The same can't be said for syndromes that systematically destroy your ability to reason.

Laying low

Still laying low, trying to recuperate.

Listening to Rwake, Animal Collective, just finished Edmund Goulding's Nightmare Alley. Quite the trip :) Good times.

Resolution #1 - Write more frequently

And so the New Year begins, and I need to write in this thing more often!

Iran is test-firing new missiles. Eerie.

Here is a look ahead.
Obviously, I'm still waiting to get my Sasquatch tickets. Looks like JMO got hers. ;)
I really want to see von Trier's Melancholia. Ducks play the rosebowl today. I'm sure there is plenty of NBA and NCAA basketball I'll be watching.
